I write to you both personally to thank you both for what was a wonderful performance at our recent 2018 Gala Awards Evening held at the Launceston Country Club, Tasmania.
From my first initial contact and until our de-brief at the close of the evening nothing was ever too much trouble in working in with our requirements in wanting to deliver a great show.
We are always wanting to offer our customers something unique and special every year – from Comedians, Magicians, Hypnotists and Sports Celebrity’s but by far the best entertainer has been Rod “Elvis” Toovey, for that we thank you immensely guys.
Rod’s performance still has our customers bestowing much praise and they say their aching feet from the constant dancing has finally subsided. To see our customers at the end of the evening screaming for more was a remarkable sight! Again, I wish you both the very best for Christmas & for 2019, and from all your new friends at OHAUS Australia – thank you very much.

I have known Rod Toovey (The Essence of Elvis) for ten years and in the four and a half years I was bar and function manager at the Devonport Bowls and Croquet Club
Rod had 5 engagements for open shows also private functions for visiting bowlers and partners from New South Wales
Rod always engages well with his audience, young or old, fit or frail, he always finds a way to interact amongst the crowd to make the show more memorable for all.
I have also been to many shows as a member of the audience including at The Parkes Elvis Festival and clubs in N.S.W. and around Tasmania. It does not matter the size of the venue he adapts his show to suit and always wows his audiences.

Rod has called his show ‘The Essence of Elvis’ as he does not want to be known as an Elvis Impersonator, rather as a singer/guitarist who pays tribute to Elvis Presley – one of the greatest performers of all time.
Rod is a seasoned musician with an exceptional voice, who has taken his act to many parts of Australia. He has been performing Elvis songs since he was a mere 15 years old. Rod performed regularly on the Gold Coast in the 90’s before moving to Moruya in 2000, where he collaborated with other local musicians before again going solo. He now calls Tasmania home.
Rod has been appearing annually at the PARKES ELVIS FESTIVAL since 2007. And will be back again 2019 appearing at The Parkes Railway Hotel and The Parkes Railway Bowls Club
Rod travelled to the USA in May 2016 where he was the special guest for the ‘Elvis & The Southern Sounds’ 2016 tour to Memphis, Nashville, Vegas and more. It was a tremendous success and Rod’s special performance at the Crown Plaza in Memphis sure was a night to remember. Tour members as well as other guests from all over the world enjoyed a wonderful, fun filled night of music and dancing. And just to make the night even more special, it was held right across the road from where Elvis lived as a young lad with his parents.
The current ‘Essence of Elvis’ show includes all of the Elvis’s favourites from throughout his career, as well as songs from his movies, beautiful gospel numbers and a few that aren’t as well-known as Elvis songs that may surprise you.

Rod’s ‘JUKEBOX HITS FROM HEAVEN’ show not only includes all the Elvis favourites, but also the hits from other legends. Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Dean Martin & more.
Rod can adapt his show to fit everyone’s needs, from a full 3 hour stage show to corporate functions, or other special occasion, nothing’s a problem.
The costumes are replicas of the real thing and are custom made in the USA.
Rod’s light hearted manner on stage as well as his guitar work and those classic ‘Elvis moves’ makes for a great show, always enjoyed by old and new ‘Elvis’ fans alike.
