Blueflies are a 4-piece originals/covers band with Paul Huxtable lead vocals and guitar, Steve Rogerson lead guitar and vocals, Jeff Reeve bass guitar and Kevin Regan drums Blueflies are sure to appeal to lovers of Blues and Roots. Paul and Steve started playing together as a duo in 1995 thru to 1998,-  known as 'Helen's Idea', with residences at the Good Woman Inn and the Blue Note during that time. In 1999 Jeff Reeve joined the band on bass guitar. The trio continued playing blues venues around Hobart notably the Republic Bar from 2000.-  In 2004 Kevin joined on drums. Along with originals penned over the last couple of years, they also cover songs in tribute past masters; Willie Dixon, BB King, JJ Cale, Tom Petty, Tony Joe White and living masters, Buddy Guy, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Jonny Lang, Tom Waits, Ben Harper, Mavis Staples, Bonnie Raitt and more. There is always something special or unexpected with this band having such an extensive catalogue. Paul's vocals and rhythm guitar, Steve's firing guitar solos plus the- rhythm section of Jeff and Kevin keeping it tight.-  They provide a top night's entertainment and always have something to keep the dancers happy.
