Sugartrain is a 6 to 7 piece disco, soul, funk, & dance music band that formed in 1996 and have been playing on the professional music scene in Tasmania regularly ever since. The band's extensive song list contains tunes from the 1930's through to the present day, ranging from 'laid back' jazz to 60's soul, 70's disco hits and recent dance tracks.

Sugartrain are renowned for their high energy shows and the enthusiastic response that they receive from their audiences. This, along with their carefully selected song-list & highly crafted sound brings you a- fantastically unique show.

Kalo Lowe- is the band's talented lead singer, create powerful vocal harmonies & dynamic choreography that combine to give each set- energy & life.- The top class rhythm section made up of- Sean Brady on drums & percussion and Rod Lowe on Bass Guitar bring nearly 45 years of live music experience to the stage. Glyn Hands on guitar with Jose Guia an international keyboard player born from Cebu City, Philippines.. Mastered the Synthesizer sounds projecting the right sound on 60's,70's,80's,90's to new era etc. covering all genre and style for Sugartrain Band and Atomic Band repertoire.. Jose are using Roland keyboards which are the new Fantom 08 brings crisp top cream sound, Juno Di for the classics ,and a Korg Monologue to funk the night up..  And occasionally guest Mitchell Partridge percussion
Scott Cashion (sax) is one of the best in the state for this type of band. Monica Hart is the second lead vocalist when Sugartrain become 7 piece. Monica is a highly professional singer who has been singing with Kalo in Sugartrain for 26 years. Adding stunning harmonies and 2 strong lead vocals

Sugartrain have played- The Hobart Cup, The Taste of Tasmania, Microsoft and Westpac national and international conferences to name but a few, and due to their dynamic sound they are a hot favourite at weddings.

Sugartrain's- THE MOTOWN REVUE- is a 9 piece band featuring a host of Tasmania's top musicians. A 3 piece Horn Section, Piano, Organ, Guitar, Bass, Drums & of course Sugartrains Fantastic two lead vocalists, bring together five part harmonies. This brings out the superbly crafted motown songs in a way never before heard in Tasmania.

Stop! In The Name Of Love by The Supremes, Please Mr. Postman by Smokey Robinson, Dancing In The Street by Martha and The Vandellas; - and Ain't Too Proud To Beg by The Temptations are just some of the "˜60's era Motown songs this epics act performs,- woven in with other girl group songs such as Leader Of The Pack, Da Doo Ron Ron, & Needle In A Haystack, and later Motown hits from the likes of the Jackson 5 and Stevie Wonder.

Providing- an unforgettable night's entertainment, with such great songs & a superb band, it's impossible for it NOT to be exciting!
