Zac Weeks is an independent contemporary country artist from Tasmania who has spent the past decade building a reputation as one of the island state’s most engaging and respected live performers. Known for his high-energy shows, genuine onstage persona, and a knack for writing addictive hooks paired with exciting, modern melodies, Zac has become a well-loved figure within Tasmania’s country music scene and is now firmly setting his sights on a national audience.
Having performed consistently across Tasmania for over ten years, Zac has earned a loyal following through hard work, and a deep-engaging connection with his audiences. Whether playing intimate community events or large festival stages, his performances are marked by an infectious energy and an ability to draw crowds into the story of each song. It’s this balance of relatability and confidence that has made Zac a standout live act and a regular favourite wherever he performs.
Since 2024, Zac has been working closely with multi–Golden Guitar winning producer Matt Fell, a creative partnership that has helped sharpen his sound and elevate his songwriting. This collaboration has marked a significant step forward in Zac’s career, blending his contemporary country influences with polished production and a clear artistic direction.
Zac’s first release from this era, Cowboy Hat, made an immediate impact, reaching the AMRAP Top 10 for Regional and Remote Communities, and establishing him as an artist to watch beyond Tasmania. His momentum continued with subsequent releases, including Shotgun Lover, which reached number 6 on the Tasmanian and Australian OZ CMR Top 40 Country Charts. With several more singles already recorded and ready for release, Zac’s catalogue continues to grow alongside his audience.
A passionate live performer, Zac has appeared at some of Australia’s most recognisable country music events. He has recently performed at the iconic Deni Ute Muster, as well as numerous community and regional festivals including the Good Gumnuts Festival and the Devil Country Muster. These performances have further cemented his reputation as an artist who thrives on stage and delivers memorable, crowd-connecting shows.
In 2026, Zac was selected to attend the CMAA Senior Academy of Country Music, where he worked alongside and was mentored by acclaimed artist Gretta Zilla. That same year, Zac returned to the Tamworth Country Music Festival for the second time where he performed at the Opening Concert at Toyota Park, as well as competed as a finalist in the TMFM Discovered Competition, and supporting artists such as Katie Jayne. These experiences have played a key role in Zac’s artistic growth, while strengthening his presence within the national country music community.
Across 2025 and 2026, Zac has supported a number of Australia’s leading country artists, including The Wolfe Brothers, Wade Forster, Shannon Noll, Lane Pittman, Andrew Swift, and Amber Lawrence. Sharing the stage with these acts has further refined his live show and expanded his reach to new audiences across the country.
In recognition of his rising profile and consistent work ethic, Zac was awarded Rising Star at the 2025 Tasmanian Independent Country Music Awards, and received nominations for Male Artist of the Year, Performer of the Year, and New Artist of the Year—a strong endorsement of his impact within the independent country scene.
Looking ahead, Zac is preparing for his next major chapter, organising a regional tour across mainland Australia with his backing band, The Forged. Throughout 2026, Zac will release four new singles, each supported by strategic pre- and post-release marketing campaigns designed to grow his audience and strengthen his national footprint. Alongside new music, Zac is currently discussing sponsorships with several clothing, vehicle, and instrument brands, and is continuing to applying for grants, festivals, and competitions, with a clear focus on long-term career development and sustainable growth.
With proven live credentials, chart success, industry recognition, and a clear vision for the future, Zac Weeks is an artist steadily forging his path—bringing contemporary country music from Tasmania to stages across Australia.
