He is one of Australia’s best selling independent artists; yet, he remains a fresh new musical experience waiting to be discovered by a growing audience. Cary’s beautiful original solo guitar music draws on the best elements of jazz, latin, folk, finger style blues and echoes of classical technique. The extra bass string gives a wider tonal range and more warmth allowing the subtle nuances of his intricate playing style to shine through. Cary was born in Tasmania in 1952. As a child he played the piano and at the age of 17 he taught himself to play the guitar. Originally a primary school teacher, Cary has also worked as an ABC scriptwriter for the program Singing and Listening, and as the Musical Director with the Salamanca Theatre Company. He also wrote and performed the music for the ABC Tasmanian drama, The Town That Died. He has performed with Tommy Emmanuel, Olivia Newton John, David Gates (Bread), Don Burrows, Christine Sullivan and others. Christopher Coleman
    Music| Original Artists| Solo

Christopher Coleman is a Tasmanian singer and multi-instrumentalist whose songwriting is characterised by dry domestic observation and a rambling stream of consciousness. The winner of Triple J Unearthed (2012) and the Telstra Road To Discovery (2013), Coleman released his debut self titled album (2014) to strong critical reviews. Extensive touring continued throughout the US, UK, New Zealand and Australia. 2016 saw the release of his second album Ah, Winter. In 2017 Coleman formed “The Songbooks”, a project celebrating the great Australian songbook. “The Songbooks” features Tasmania’s finest singers and has sown seeds to become a Tasmanian institution.
