Alex Sykes is an experienced Tasmanian media professional with more than a decade working across radio, television and communications.

Alex began her career in radio, reading news for Triple M, Hit 100.9 and 7HOFM before moving into television journalism with 7 Tasmania News. She went on to spend almost five years as a news presenter across the Channel 10 network, reading the news in Tasmania and Darwin, and presenting the weather for 7 Spencer Gulf News.

Alex currently works as a political communications strategist, where she continues to engage closely with the Tasmanian media landscape.

Alongside her media career, Alex has extensive experience as a professional emcee and event host. She has hosted a wide range of events including Women in Media Tasmania functions (where she is a former president and current committee member), the Hobart International, AFLW match days, the Northern Territory Young Achiever Awards, Hobart Hurricanes corporate luncheons, the Tennis Tasmania Awards and many more.
