MC - Marie Burt has been involved in event hosting for around a decade, with over five years of professional experience. Initially starting with small local charity events, work-related functions, and weddings for friends and family, her interest grew into a passion.
Throughout Marie’s career, she has primarily worked in administration, customer service, and corporate support. For more than four years, she hosted a popular breakfast radio show on Chilli FM. The show held the number one spot in ratings for about five years, boasting the highest listener percentage for any radio show in Tasmania. As a radio host, Marie showcased voice versatility in client advertisements and minor voice acting roles, heard on various radio stations across Australia. Being extroverted, she thrives on interacting with people and expanding her social circle. Hosting radio shows and events has enabled her to establish connections with a diverse range of community members.
Marie has served as the Master of Ceremonies for numerous charity events such as the Ben Elephant Ball, Carz for Kids, and the CEO Sleep Out. Additionally, she has had the honor of hosting stages at Festivale, the George Town City Christmas Carols, and the Launceston Mall Christmas tree lighting ceremonies. Acknowledging that even the best plans may go awry, she has honed the skill of improvisation, maintaining composure and ensuring events run smoothly despite any backstage chaos.
On a personal note, Marie finds joy in reading, camping, off-road driving, spending time with her dogs, and cooking with her two children. She also has a keen interest in fashion, true crime, psychology, and automobiles.
