Nicholas Osborn is a pianist and guitarist. As a pianist, he has evolved an idiosyncratic and passionate pianistic style which is embedded in improvisation. He plays standard numbers from the jazz, classical and flamenco repertoires, in addition to wholly impromptu pieces or “fantasias.” Blurred boundaries, modulating themes and tasteless pastiche make for a sound in equal parts dreamlike and riling.

As a guitarist, Nicholas specialises in modern flamenco, a world to which he was inducted while eking out a living in a crumbling suburb of Seville between 2017 and 2018. To this he brings an amateur’s love of the Spanish Baroque, and a penchant for improvisation which borders on reliance. He performs an array of standard numbers and original compositions, including wholly impromptu pieces.
