    Thylasing
    ThylaSing is an award-winning a cappella vocal ensemble based in nipaluna/Hobart. Founded in 2017 by musical director Aaron Powell, ThylaSing aims to provide a space for experienced singers to engage with innovative arrangements of contemporary songs and original compositions. In 2022, ThylaSing won 2nd place in the open division of the Australian A Cappella Awards, as well as a special award for Best Jazz Song. Composer Nic Courto also won Best Original Composition and was runner-up for Best Soloist. ThylaSing perform regularly around Hobart, with highlights including Love, Loss & Hope at Port Arthur, a Cancer Council fundraising concert at Government House, MONA FOMA and many more. As part of the Festival of Voices, ThylaSing have performed every year since forming in the Voices@5 series and the Pop-Up Program, and have been invited on numerous occasions to perform in the A Cappella Concert.

    Tim Hibberd
    Tim is a singer/Guitarist originally from Tasmania. He started out his passion for music by drumming in various bands around Hobart in the mid 80’s, with bands such as Complex Minds, Clown House and Total Fire Band, and then switching to vocals and guitar with The Tin Men in the 90’s. He has been playing as a soloist extensively throughout Tasmania and mainland Australia since 1990, including a residency on Heron Island (Whitsunday Islands), WA and VIC.  He has performed at weddings, private functions, corporate events and at venues including Wrest Point Federal Casino’s Birdcage Bar, Boardwalk Bar & Blackjacks Showroom, Moorilla Estate Winery (supporting ” Mental As Anything”), & The Novotel Launceston just to name a few. He has also performed at the MCG for the AFL Grand Final 2016. As a musician, Tim prides himself- on his diverse repertoire, covering songs from various artists such as: Neil Diamond, Van Morrison, U2, Paul Simon, CCR, Mental As Anything, Maroon 5, & Matchbox 20 just to name a few. As an entertainer he seeks to provide maximum enjoyment for the audience both musically and visually, and can perform either acoustically or with accompanied sequences, as a solo artist, duo, or in a trio.

    Tim Lane
    Tim learnt the guitar while still in high school. He played lead guitar in numerous rock covers band while at university.  The Pheelerz and Smell the glove.  After University Tim’s music took a break so he could qualify as a chartered accountant and live and work overseas in Budapest Hungary. Upon his return to Australia Tim soon gravitated back to music with a focus on developing his singing skills.  Through numerous teachers and endless hours his confidence finally grew. Tim now plays regularly around Hobart with an emphasis on recognizable but different covers with a view to playing something different as well. He focuses on interaction with the crowd and entertaining to make the event memorable. Tim has a very flexible repertoire and can start acoustically and quiet but add drums and bass as the night progresses to get the party really going.  Tim will willingly learn requests for special functions.

    Tolshë
    Tolshë is a duo made up of two old friends, Andrina Racket and Louise Goich.  Andrina has been performing for many years and with her rich, soul-based vocals she certainly leaves an impression. Louise has also been performing, vocals and guitar, for a number of years in different ensembles and as a solo artist around the state. The two became firm friends about 15 years ago, through their children at school and quickly discovered each other’s love of music and performing. Over their many years of friendship they have often got together to perform, with their very different singing styles blending unusually well together. After a brief hiatus, they have reformed as the duo Tolshë.  With a combination of smoky, deep tones and melodic harmonies, they produce a wonderfully unique live sound.

    Tom Booth
    Tom Booth is a local Hobart musician who has been performing at pubs and bars around Tasmania for over 12 years. His setlist covers a range of popular acoustic and rock music from as early as the 60’s through to more modern tracks. He has recently incorporated a loop station into his live setup to offer a greater depth to the performance. This provides energy and a sound that is more reminiscent of a small band.

    Tony Mak is a solo acoustic guitarist and singer with over 20 years’ experience in bands and duos, spanning many different musical styles and genres. In 2012 Tony hit the scene as a solo performer.  His unique voice, skilled guitar playing and entertaining style has seen him become a favourite at some of Hobart’s best venues.     Uncle Gus and The Rimshots
    Uncle Gus and The Rimshots are Hobart’s newest (and quite possibly, Hobart’s youngest) swing/jive band. Playing the music of swing/jive greats like Louis Jordan, Louis Prima and Bull Moose Jackson; Uncle Gus and The Rimshots create a fun-loving and energetic atmosphere that is sure to get everyone buzzing. Gus Leighton fronts the band on lead vocals and roaring saxophone, while Dave Cavallo squawks away on trumpet and Adam Davenport-Hortle slides around on the trombone. Piano player Mathew Olivier, bassist Hadyn Murtagh, guitarist Rowan Pattison and drummer Damien Oliver-Black work together to provide a cookin’ rhythm section that will get everyone singing and dancing along to the swing hits of yesterday and today.
