    MC – David Foster
    David Foster OAM (born 20 March 1957) is an Australian world champion woodchopper, and Tasmanian community figure. He has held the World Woodchopping Championship title for 21 consecutive years, and is one of Australia’s most successful athletes and possibly the only athlete in any sport in the world to win over 1,000 titles. Foster is often joined in his charitable quests by the Launceston cricketer David Boon. Foster has received several awards for his cultural, charitable and community activities. These include being awarded an Order of Australia Medal, a commendation from the then Governor of Tasmania Sir Phillip Bennett and an Anzac Medal for services to the community. He also received a Tasmanian of the Year award in 1995, and was appointed a director of the National Australia Day Council in 1998. In 2020, he was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame.

    Jane hails from Hobart and has worked extensively in theatre, television and radio since graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts. Her television credits include Rosehaven, Death or Liberty, Blue Heelers, GP, Janus, The Flying Doctors, Neighbours and A Country Practice.-  Jane has performed for Melbourne Theatre Company, at La Mama, with various independent theatre companies within Melbourne, HotHouse Theatre in Albury Wodonga and in A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the Royal Botanical Gardens of Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. Now based in Tasmania Jane’s recent theatre credits include The Mares written by Kate Mulvany for Tasmanian Theatre Company; Hamlet (Blue Cow Theatre); e baby (Tasmanian Theatre Company) and You and Me and the Space Between (Terrapin Puppet Theatre) both for 2017 Ten Days on the Island, Grounded, (for which Jane was awarded the 2016 Tasmanian Theatre Award for Best Performance by a Female) and the premiere and return seasons of The State of the Tasmanian Economy for Blue Cow Theatre. Jane played Martha in the Tasmanian Theatre Company production of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? staged in the Esmond Dorney House for two sold out seasons. This production was awarded a 2015 Tasmanian Theatre Award for Best Ensemble (professional category). Jane works regularly as a voice over artist, presents concerts with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra throughout Tasmania and can be heard regularly on ABC Local Radio where she also works as a fill in presenter for Local Radio including ABC Rural, ABC Grandstand and ABC Classic FM. Since returning to Hobart to live with her family Jane has hosted events big and small and facilitated numerous conferences for clients including Department of Health (Tasmania); WorkSafe Tasmania and the Foster Carer’s Association.

    MC – Kim Millar
    Kim Millar is the weekday News Anchor for 7 News Tasmania, the state’s most watched television news bulletin. She is also a communications specialist based in Launceston, Tasmania and a former news journalist, presenter and senior producer with Southern Cross Television.- With more than 20 years’ experience as journalist, Kim played a key role in covering local news events and therefore has a strong understanding of regional issues.- Between 2001-2011, Kim Millar was the weekend news reader for Southern Cross Television. Kim is often called upon to host large public events as an MC and was the facilitator for the Federal Government’s Climate Commission public forums. She has also hosted Launceston Carols by Candlelight-  and Festivale and her other television commitments- have included- anchoring the Launceston and Hobart Cups for TasRacing and presenting nightly segments on Southern Cross for Variety Tasmania’s major fundraiser Tasbash. For the past decade Kim has provided media training to clients including the Tasmanian Institute of Sport and NRM North. Training covers such topics as dealing with the media, interview skills, crisis management, media strategies and media release preparation. Kim conducts presentation and public speaking training for business executives, journalists, sports leaders and other public figures. Speaking in public can be an overwhelming experience for even the most successful business or community leader and Kim focusses on providing vocal coaching, relaxation and script content advice and support. Kim’s skills as a writer have been utilised by various clients including the Australian Maritime College, Rio Tinto Corporate Brisbane, Rio Tinto (Pacific Aluminium) Bell Bay, and Tasmanian small business to produce annual reports, sustainability reports, media articles and media releases, web content, speech writing, grant and award applications and generic corporate communication. Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Journalism and Politics) from Deakin University. Kim is a yoga teacher and board director for Self Help Workplace – a not for profit employer of people with disabilities.

    MC – Marie Burt has been involved in event hosting for around a decade, with over five years of professional experience. Initially starting with small local charity events, work-related functions, and weddings for friends and family, her interest grew into a passion. Throughout Marie’s career, she has primarily worked in administration, customer service, and corporate support. For more than four years, she hosted a popular breakfast radio show on Chilli FM.     MC – Michael Maney
    Michael Maney has been performing MC work for quite some time, hosting many private functions and corporate weddings while living in Adelaide. He’s hosted sporting presentations on field and off field, including ground announcing for the Hawthorn Football Club for Launceston matches, and ground announcer for the Burnie Athletic Carnival.   Has been Court Announcer at the Hobart Tennis International, performing on court interviews and corporate hosting, and working on cricket Test match coverage as a commentator and interviewer with the ABC and ESPN.   He has hosted the Tasmanian Athlete of the Year, co-hosted the William Leitch Medal as a live TV production, Hosted the SANFL coverage on ABC Adelaide and commentated and hosted the  ABC’s Statewide Football League Tasmanian TV coverage, performing multiple on field SANFL Grand Final duties at AAMI Stadium in front of 35 thousand people.   There have been numerous sports forum hosting roles with football and cricket clubs. A highlight the ST Pats Football Club’s 90 year celebration at Launceston Country Club, ACL Cricket Club’s  and the NTFA awards presentation evening at the same venue. This year he anchored 7 Tasmania’s Live 2024 State Election Coverage, and has been reading weekday and weekend news bulletins for 7.   Michael has been part of ABC Sport’s AFL football commentary team on and off for 28 years, in Adelaide and Tasmania, and called play by play in Sydney, Marvel Stadium, Kardinia Park, Utas Stadium and Blundstone Arena in over 100 matches.

Stay ChatTY, Mitch’s journey to raise awareness of suicide prevention and reduce the stigma around mental health began after his younger brother Ty took his own life in 2013.   Mitch, the 2017 Tasmanian Young Australian of the Year and National R U OK? Day Ambassador has had a remarkable journey transitioning from an everyday tradie into a well-respected and purpose-driven public speaker.   Mitch leads with an extraordinary vision for change, courageously harnessing his lived experience of loss to encourage our community to speak up about their mental health and take action. All through the important message of sparking conversations. Since the loss of his younger brother Ty in 2013, Mitch has dedicated his life to helping, educating and encouraging others to speak up about mental health and prevent suicide. All of this important work is well aligned to Mitch’s own personal values: compassion, authenticity, kindness and perseverance.   Mitch has become a “go to” in the Tasmanian community for important discussions and messaging around mental health – Aswell as assisting those seeking guidance on start-up charities, funding advice or looking to build strong Tasmanian connections.   Mitch is now also expanding his reach and skills into the Tasmanian media and events landscape.
