Matty Edmunds is a Musician with over 30 years music industry experience, having worked all over the world in bands and as a solo artist. He now performs his solo gigs throughout Tasmania in pubs, hotels, bars, clubs, private functions as well as being a familiar face at the casino! Scott Burns is a performer with a fiery passion for all forms of musical entertainment. He performs on stage both in plays and musicals and can be seen on TV as the Singing Preacher- telling the world to POO, POKE, POST! As well as stage, TV, voiceover and film work. Scott has been a DJ since the late 1980s. With these two Bio’s in the mix, Backbeat Entertainment was formed and The “50/50” concept was born.   Bringing together both Live Music and spun retro classics. Matt and Burnsy love the Retro vibe. Whether it’s the 60s,70s, 80s or 90s it’s in their performance pocket. The 50/50 concept provides a non-stop, high energy package that includes not just great music, but comedic Pop culture, audience participation and an unforgettable feel great factor. As well as a few surprises along the way too! The 50/50’s at Your Wedding do a unique acoustic/dj mix.  Matt, a great guitarist & vocalist adds something special to your ceremony/drinks. The Foley Artists were just kids when they began performing Irish music down at the Salamanca Market; busking as a family band. Comprising of fiddle, banjo and guitar – Hannah and twins Hugh and Declan have been playing together for over 15 years and have produced 3 albums. The twins are both Conservatorium of Music trained and continue to work tirelessly on their musical passion. They toured the UK in 2012 and have played at countless music festivals around Tasmania and Australia. Spanning their careers so far the versatile musicians have performed in numerous local acts from cover bands to DJing to original acts; playing jazz, Irish, country, blues, folk, contemporary pop and old classics for functions, weddings, bars, clubs and pubs – anywhere that would let them hook up an amplifier. Yet, the busy trio love nothing more than uniting on a Saturday night to unleash their Irish repertoire that started them off all those years ago. Grab the Foley Artists as a trio, a duo, solo or as DJs. As a trio, the Foley Artists are known for playing a blend of Celtic and Bluegrass with an emphasis on improvisation. The driving rhythm of guitar and banjo allow the amazing fiddle sounds to mesmerize audiences. If you are looking for a band to exhaust audiences dancing to the lightning speed of traditional tunes or relaxing background music, this is the band for you. Predominantly instrumental, the band members have voices to enchant. As a duo, the Foley brothers have been performing together over the past 10 years, travelling around Tasmania providing musical entertainment for weddings and functions as well as regular appearances at the best venues in Hobart. They will take you on an instrumental odyssey where the music flows through different genres, the melodic sounds of the electric banjo are driven along by the skilled guitarist, with vocals to charm. They create an ambient atmosphere that can transform into upbeat party vibe. As DJs, they have impressive experience of providing a full night of entertainment to a wedding or function and bars around Hobart. The Foley brothers seek to create that feel-good atmosphere where the groove is infectious and always right. They play sets that get you tapping your feet and nodding your head without you realising it, regardless of genre or release date. The lads have an extensive list of classics and bangers and will play any requests. They also love to bring out the electric guitar and improvise over their sets! As a solo, Hugh is a signer/jazz banjo musician currently studying his honours in banjo at the University of Tasmania. When he performs solo, he showcases a variety of classic hits and forgotten gems spanning jazz, country and rock from the likes of Pink Floyd, the Beatles and Neil Young, all with this own flavour.
