    Fuse was first established in 1996 and has been playing regularly throughout Tasmania.-  The band consists of Robert Stubs (lead guitar & vocals), John Leishman (Bass guitar & Vocals) and Benita Nelson (drums). Fuse covers a wide range of styles from Jazz to Rock and Blues.-  With an extensive song list including originals the band appeals to people of all ages. With regular return bookings at venues such as Wrest Point Casino, The Foreshore Tavern and Dr Syntax, the band has built a good reputation with the public.

    Graham Rix
    After relocating in 2018 to Tasmania, his place of origin, Graham Rix has since been performing at prominent venues and corporate events in Hobart and surrounds. With a focus on ‘vibe in the room’, he aims to create a unique, memorable experience, providing an opportunity for all present to simply enjoy themselves ‘in the moment’. Presenting a finely selected repertoire of contemporary and classic rock, pop and folk songs, his current trademark performance is as a singer/guitarist with saxophone played selectively over live-looped guitar. This is spontaneously layered to create a unique blend of laid-back soloing and harmony lines with occasional double-tracked slide guitar, all paving the way for soulful saxophone improvisation. When the occasion suits, he also gives both vocal and instrumental piano performances. Working extensively for many years, both within Australia and abroad, he has held longer-standing residencies at various times, most notably as resident musician and DJ (chillout & deep house) at Hayman Island, Great Barrier Reef, during most of 2016. He has also previously performed as an itinerant musician on Great Southern Rail services The Ghan and The Overland. Corporate performances have included events for clients the likes of Qantas, MasterCard, Bupa, Lenovo, One&Only Resorts and Sunoco, and more recently the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania. With the proven capacity to combine both his instrumental and DJ skills simultaneously within a live setting, and with versatility and mobility being key factors in his work generally, what he offers potentially suits a wide range of performance settings and locations.

    Greg Souter has been a working professional guitarist for 40 years. He has around 5000 live performance credits in all genres of music. Career highlights include MONA FOMA 2011, 2O12 with Los Angeles based guitarist Richard Smith. Collaborative projects include Victorian based jazz vocalist Meg Corson and as featured artist with The Alpine String Quartet.     Gus Leighton
    Gus Leighton is an Australian contemporary tenor saxophonist based in Hobart, Tasmania. Growing up listening to various music, Gus soon developed an affinity with the sounds of jazz and country music, which significantly impacted his career. Gus’ improvisational and compositional language is heavily influenced by Lester Young, Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz and Wayne Shorter. These four saxophonists have become the focus of Gus’ PhD research which is currently being undertaken at the University of Tasmania. Gus is a well-respected saxophonist, composer, arranger and bandleader of ‘Uncle Gus and The Rimshots’, ‘The Gus Leighton Quartet’ and ‘The Greenrises Jazz Orchestra’. Outside of his own projects, Gus performs at various festivals/events as both a leader and accompanist – notably accompanying Dami Im at the Festival of Voices Big Sing Bonfire in 2019 and Andrew O’Keefe for the Hobart show of Andrew O’Keefe ‘Shouts’ Johnny O’Keefe. Other artists Gus has supported at various events include Crooked Colours, The Wolfe Brothers, Mark Trevorrow (Bob Downe), John O’Hara, Henry Waggons, Mighty Duke, and The Lords.  In 2020 Gus was selected to be the Musical Director of the 2020 Virtual Big Sing Bonfire for Festival of Voices and has served as musical director of various other projects in Tasmania. in 2020, Gus was also the recipient of the Jack Duffy Memorial award presented by the Hobart Jazz Club and the Musician’s Union of Tasmania for his musical ability and what he gives back to the greater jazz community. In 2021 Gus was presented with funding by the Clarence City Council to produce a commissioned piece for the 2022 Clarence Jazz Festival to be played at the debut gig of ‘The Greenrises Jazz Orchestra’; a 16-piece- an ensemble that performs Gus’s original compositions.   Under his own projects, Gus has released 4 albums in the past 4 years. These are: Carrington – The Gus Leighton Quartet Chilli Con Carnage – Uncle Gus and the Rimshots Uncle Gus and The Rimshots Live in the Founder’s Room The Gus Leighton Quartet Live Outside of these public performances and recordings, Gus also regularly performs with DJs. His high-octane stage presence and crowd work have seen him become a regular performer at festivals and weddings in Tasmania and entertaining clients at corporate events around the country. Gus’s achievements have been recognized outside of Australia, earning him endorsements with Syos Mouthpieces (France) and Bari Woodwind Inc (USA). Gus is making a name for himself on the Australian music scene as a hardworking, passionate musician who brings unbridled energy, creativity, and enthusiasm to any project he is involved in.

    Henry Rippon is a young solo acoustic/electric act playing mainly blues, jazz and folk tunes. Over the past 6 years he’s honed his craft in a range of venues ranging from cafés and pubs to small outdoor festivals in solo, duo and band formats. With influences from BB King, Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Paul Kelly, Robert Johnson, Ella Fitzgerald and many more he has a broad repertoire that can be tailored to suit any situation.-  In 2017, as a Year 12 student at Don College, Henry gained a Distinction and received an award for his UTAS music performance studies. Already as a young musician, Henry has been able to support acts such as Mia Dyson, Kyle Lionheart and Halfway To Forth.

    Hui & The Muse
    Hui Tocker and Peter Hicks have been performing regularly on the Hobart music scene for several years. They are both singer/songwriters who play a variety of musical styles from blues, folk, jazz, country and rockabilly as well as their own original material. They enjoy playing at various venues from festivals local and interstate, to Willie Smith’s Apple Shed, Mona, Peppermint Bay, Wrest Point Hotel and Casino, The Longley International and The Republic Bar and Café and at private functions. While they usually play as a duo, they will also provide a three to five piece band when required. Hui and Peter bring to you, music that is harmonious, whimsical, evocative, soulful, foot stomping and infectious and together, they are captivating.
