Mia Palencia, In Good Company
Mia Palencia In Good Company is a unique collaboration between two islands. While- pursuing her music degree on the island of Tasmania, songstress Mia Palencia, who hails from Malaysian Borneo, approached Tasmanian jazz arranger and keyboardist Kelly- Ottaway with the idea of forming an ensemble to explore both her original music and- improvised jazz. The duo recruited double bassist Hamish Houston and drummer Liam- O’Leary, thus completing the line”up. With 15 years of experience in the music industry under her belt, award”winning jazz- crooner and singer”songwriter Mia Palencia is no stranger to the Malaysian music scene.- Having released her first jazz album at the age of 16, she was subsequently awarded Louis- Vuitton’s Generation Next Award. She has since released 5 albums and continues to be- featured at music festivals and prominent corporate events across Malaysia, Singapore,- Indonesia and South Korea. Some of her past clients include Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Porsche,- Mercedes Benz, BMW and Nokia. Since its formation in January 2012, Mia Palencia In Good Company have performed- extensively throughout Tasmania, being featured at key events, including Jazz in the Park- 2012 and Devil City Swing Festival. Their self”titled debut album was launched at the- Clarence Jazz Festival in February 2013. An invitation to perform at the Kota Kinabalu Jazz- Festival inspired the ensemble to undertake a Malaysian tour in June 2013. Mia Palencia In Good Company have since returned to Tasmania, and continue to develop- their brand of music: an eclectic mix of jazz, soul, RnB and latin rhythms.Added To List

Mr Beep
Mr Beep is a children’s magician with experience at private parties, schools and playgroups, social club children’s events and commercial store and shopping centre promotions. His preferred audience is three to ten-year-olds. Mr Beep’s routine relies heavily on colours, numbers and story telling. Most of his effects use objects that are familiar to children …. beach buckets, balls, colouring-in books etc. Sometimes Mr Beep is assisted by his rotund but lovable ventriloquist pal, Rollie or Artie from Antarctica. Artie is a penguin with attitude!! And he has a great repertoire of new, silly and favourite songs and jokes for the kids to enjoy! Although there is a slight educational overlay to his act, Mr Beep insists that his emphasis will always be on fun !!Added To List

Naomi Baltyn
Originally from Perth in Western Australia, Naomi Baltyn is an accomplished musician, songwriter and one half of electronic duo, Corbelle. Renowned for her unique and captivating voice, Naomi has been an active musician in WA and overseas for over 12 years. In 2014, she released her debut solo EP, Liberté before moving to France. Since returning to Australia, Naomi continues to create music with Corbelle in addition to performing as an acoustic soloist at weddings, corporate events and licensed venues. Naomi is now based in Hobart/Nipaluna with her husband and two young children. Nicholas Osborn
Nicholas Osborn is a pianist and guitarist. As a pianist, he has evolved an idiosyncratic and passionate style which is embedded in improvisation. He plays standard numbers from the jazz, classical and flamenco repertoires, in addition to wholly impromptu pieces or “fantasias.” Blurred boundaries, modulating themes and tasteless pastiche make for a sound in equal parts dreamlike and riling. As a guitarist, Nicholas specialises in modern flamenco, a world to which he was inducted while eking out a living in a crumbling suburb of Seville between 2017 and 2018. To this he brings an amateur’s love of the Spanish Baroque, and a penchant for improvisation which borders on reliance. He performs an array of standard numbers and original compositions, including wholly impromptu pieces.Added To List

Nick and Dan are a duo based in Southern Tasmania. Their music presents as a blend of acoustic rock, folk and soul, that resonates with a wide demographic. They draw on the soundscapes of artists such as Powderfinger, Matt Corby, Radiohead, and U2. Both musicians have studied and practiced music at tertiary level and regularly perform in a variety of musical contexts, showcasing their versatility and broad appeal. Nick and Dan provide an engaging live experience and contribute unique value to the live music community. They have performed at local markets, bars, and community events such as Mayfair Bar, Source Wholefoods, and Kingston Art Markets. Nicole Simms-Farrow
Nicole Simms-Farrow has been performing as a singer and actor for the last 30 years. She is well loved in the Music Theatre Scene, having performed many incredible roles on almost every stage in Hobart. Highlights include Roxie Hart (Chicago), Elphaba (Wicked), The Witch (Into the Woods), Mrs Lovett (Sweeney Todd), and Killer Queen (We Will Rock You) for John X Productions, The Show Company, and Bijou Creative. Nicole has sang with many outstanding musicians over the years, at Festival of Voices, Clarence Jazz Festival, Hot August Jazz, Dark MOFO, Mona Foma, Australian Music Theatre Festival, and Is currently working on her first original album. A founding member of the vintage trio Swoon, Nicole and the ladies have enjoyed putting shows together for the Theatre Royal Mainstage, Studio Theatre, and recently presented their newest show “Girl Power” at MAC to a sell out audience. Nicole has performed with Big Bands, Jazz Bands, Rock Bands, and String Quartets, she has a jazz/vocal duo with pianist, Iestyn Parry and an acoustic guitar/vocal duo with Joel Roberts.
