    Pelican Puppets
    Pelican Puppets have been performing puppet shows in every state and territory in Australia since 1994 at festivals, events, libraries, museums, shopping centers, agricultural shows and pre-schools. Two great glove puppet shows, based around the colourful English puppet character Mr. Punch and his friends, are performed from Pelican Puppets traditional style red and white striped compact theatre. This along with their portable PA system makes it ideal for any situation. Just a place for an audience to gather, sit and watch is necessary Each show is around thirty minutes in length and starts with a variety of puppets that come to life and interact with the audience to music followed by Mr. Punch and friends appearing in their colourful theatre. Fun for all ages. Show Descriptions Punch and Judy Laugh with Mr. Punch in his colourful adventures. Join in as this cheeky glove puppet sticks his large red nose into everything and then finds a way around the consequences. Meet his wife Judy and their baby. Then there is his friend Zac the clown, as well as Docs, Crocs and other puppet characters. Nothing gets in the way of Mr. Punch having fun. Zac “Ëśn’ the Box. When Zac the clown is left a magic box to look after by his uncle the Wizard and, at the same time trying to organise a cake for Mr. Punch’s birthday you have a recipe for laughter. Add a French chef, a swagman, the wizard, and mix thoroughly. Watch as the magic box causes mix-ups, muddles and magic. Other puppets Lots of characters to interact with the audience or wander the crowd. Pythagoras the Pelican on the lookout for his tea and a Jester looking for jokes, plus skeletons, horses, dinosaurs, clowns and more entertain young & old.     Peter Waddle and the VIPs are versatile instrumental professionals perfect for creating a classy jazzy ambience or providing swinging dance music at your event. Featuring Peter on double bass with guitar, piano, drums and sax in various combinations from 3 to 5 piece, Peter has- the pick of musicians he has had the pleasure of collaborating with over the last 30 years. The repertoire is mainly jazz standards from the great American song book with a particular lean towards songs from the big band era and the small swing combo sound of the 1940s, 50s and 60s. However, these guys have been working together, one way or another, for such a long time that if the situation calls for some soul, funk or rock and roll, they will be happy to oblige!

    Rod Toovey – The Essence of Elvis
    Rod has called his show “ËśThe Essence of Elvis’ as he does not want to be known as an Elvis Impersonator, rather as a singer/guitarist who pays tribute to Elvis Presley– – one of the greatest performers of all time. Rod is a seasoned musician with an exceptional voice, who has taken his act to many parts of Australia.- He has been performing Elvis songs since he was a mere 15 years old.-  Rod performed regularly on the Gold Coast in the 90’s before moving to Moruya in 2000, where he collaborated with other local musicians before again going solo. He now calls Tasmania home. Rod has been appearing annually at the PARKES ELVIS FESTIVAL since 2007. And will be back again 2019 appearing at The Parkes Railway Hotel and The Parkes Railway Bowls Club Rod travelled to the- USA in May 2016 where he was the- special guest for the ‘Elvis & The Southern Sounds’ 2016 tour to Memphis, Nashville, Vegas and more. It was a tremendous success and Rod’s- special performance at the Crown Plaza in- Memphis sure was a night to remember. – Tour members as well as other guests from all over the world enjoyed a wonderful,- fun filled night of music and dancing. – And just to make the night even more special, it was held right across the road from where Elvis lived as a young lad- with his parents. The current “ËśEssence of Elvis’ show includes all of the Elvis’s favourites from throughout his career, as well as songs from his movies, beautiful gospel numbers and a few that aren’t as well-known as Elvis songs that may surprise you.

    Sam Locke is a singer and guitarist from Launceston, Tasmania. Sam’s acoustic live act covers songs from classic 80’s tracks through to modern pop hits. His acoustic performances are energetic and engaging, using looping and modern equipment for a massive sound. Sam originally started out as a solo guitarist, releasing several instrumental guitar albums under his own name before going on to form the band “Actuality” and playing extensively across Tasmania. He now focuses on his passion for singing and performing at venues in the greater Launceston area.

She is currently working a major Gallery project in Devonport that will bring together all the best Artists in the North of Tasmania and feature them in one Venue. Kate grew up singing with her sisters in church every Sunday, music is a part of fibre and she can harmonise and lead with a voice that is both folky, melodic and a bit cheeky… In her 20’s she was a jazz bar singer, so Kate brings a lounge aesthetic to The Von Rock Union singing timeless standards that are perfect in a restaurant setting. Tori Rattray has worked with various bands in the north of the state and has been performing since she was 7 years old, needless to say she loves to entertain. 6 years classical vocal training in her early years paired with a love of varied musical genres allow Tori to put her stamp on a wide range of musical genres. Andy is a university music graduate is a private guitar teacher by day. He released his debut album in 2001, DJ’d on radio for 5 years and has graced of the Falls Festival multiple times with his band ‘Small City Lights’.

Well Strung takes pride in selecting songs from classic Australian artists and current pop hits while not always being the song you might expect a semi-acoustic trio to tackle.
