Angela Bryan Duo
Covers| Duos & Three Piece| MusicThe Angela Bryan Duo have been performing in and around Hobart since 2005. They performed regularly through the summer months of 2005/06 at the Source Restaurant at Moorilla, and enjoyed Sunday afternoon residencies at The Beach House in Sandy Bay during 2006/07 and 2012/13, and at Fish 349 in North Hobart during 2007/08. Other regular venues have included The Prince of Wales Hotel in Battery Point, The Fern Tree Tavern, The Queen’s Head Hotel,- Hadley’s Hotel and Wrest Point Casino. They have performed at the Hot August Jazz and Taste of the Huon festivals and for numerous weddings, parties, art exhibition openings, etc. at such venues as Peppermint Bay, the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania, the Bahai Centre, the Derwent Sailing Squadron and the Long Gallery. 2012 saw the release of their CD “Skylark” which features covers of some well known jazz and popular songs. The host’s energy will help get everyone into character, and immersing in the plot. The host will greet them in full character, and the fun begins! You won’t have to do a thing as the host takes charge with every element of the game.
- 2 Hosts 20-60 people. Your guests will be treated to a “show” of banter and interaction between the characters. The extra host will ensure every guest will receive attention and keep everyone on track and engaged in the story.
- 3 Hosts up to 80 people.– If you find yourself with a full-blown guest list, you’ll want to give them the full-blown experience. 3 hosts will ensure that the night runs smoothly and efficiently, with everyone getting involved and interactive. Jazz & Swing| MusicArman & Co. is a Hobart-based band which plays a mix of Swing, Latin, and Ballads. Front man of the band is jazz vocalist, Arman Bratamidjaja. Arman has a crooning bass-baritone voice which is often compared to classic crooners such as Frank Sinatra and Johnny Hartman. This young man moved from the island of Java, Indonesia to Hobart in 2016 and formed this band. The band commonly perform as a quintet of vocal, double bass, drums, guitar and saxophone. It has now performed in numerous venues around Tasmania and regularly perform at jazz festivals namely the Hot August Jazz Festival and Clarence Jazz Festival. Backed by the best musicians in town, Arman & Co. delivers a show that brings audience back to the era of classic crooners. On bass guitar ‘Admiral’ Adrian Smith and holding up the backline with him, and proving justifiable nepotism is alive and well on the high seas, on drums Felix Smith. No yacht rock band is complete without super smooth horn sounds and we’ve got the smoothest of the them all. Give it up for Derek ‘Derrick’ Grice. On keyboards, a young virtuoso who I don’t think had even heard of the genre when he was asked to join this scurvy crew, Sheng Yuan-Lynch. On lead guitar and backing vocals, a man who lays down searing and tasty licks, Captain Tom Howard. On rhythm guitar is it George Benson? No it’s Joel ‘Breezin’ Roberts.
