The Foley Artists
The Foley Artists were just kids when they began performing Irish music down at the Salamanca Market; busking as a family band. Comprising of fiddle, banjo and guitar – Hannah and twins Hugh and Declan have been playing together for over 15 years and have produced 3 albums. The twins are both Conservatorium of Music trained and continue to work tirelessly on their musical passion. They toured the UK in 2012 and have played at countless music festivals around Tasmania and Australia. Spanning their careers so far the versatile musicians have performed in numerous local acts from cover bands to DJing to original acts; playing jazz, Irish, country, blues, folk, contemporary pop and old classics for functions, weddings, bars, clubs and pubs – anywhere that would let them hook up an amplifier. Yet, the busy trio love nothing more than uniting on a Saturday night to unleash their Irish repertoire that started them off all those years ago. Grab the Foley Artists as a trio, a duo, solo or as DJs. As a trio, the Foley Artists are known for playing a blend of Celtic and Bluegrass with an emphasis on improvisation. The driving rhythm of guitar and banjo allow the amazing fiddle sounds to mesmerize audiences. If you are looking for a band to exhaust audiences dancing to the lightning speed of traditional tunes or relaxing background music, this is the band for you. Predominantly instrumental, the band members have voices to enchant. As a duo, the Foley brothers have been performing together over the past 10 years, travelling around Tasmania providing musical entertainment for weddings and functions as well as regular appearances at the best venues in Hobart. They will take you on an instrumental odyssey where the music flows through different genres, the melodic sounds of the electric banjo are driven along by the skilled guitarist, with vocals to charm. They create an ambient atmosphere that can transform into upbeat party vibe. As DJs, they have impressive experience of providing a full night of entertainment to a wedding or function and bars around Hobart. The Foley brothers seek to create that feel-good atmosphere where the groove is infectious and always right. They play sets that get you tapping your feet and nodding your head without you realising it, regardless of genre or release date. The lads have an extensive list of classics and bangers and will play any requests. They also love to bring out the electric guitar and improvise over their sets! As a solo, Hugh is a signer/jazz banjo musician currently studying his honours in banjo at the University of Tasmania. When he performs solo, he showcases a variety of classic hits and forgotten gems spanning jazz, country and rock from the likes of Pink Floyd, the Beatles and Neil Young, all with this own flavour. Easy listening perfect for smaller gatherings. Available for any occasion Trio + duo + solo + DJAdded To List

The Moonshine Collective
Lead Band Member Finn-Gabriel Moonshine started the band as part of a desire to develop a modern jazz band for a group of young guys dedicated to performing modern jazz. As a result, The Moonshine Collective have become a modern Contemporary Jazz group formed just out of high school. Based in Hobart, Tasmania, featuring Finn-Gabriel Moonshine Bacon on guitar, Sebastian Folvig on bass, Tristan Meffre on saxophone and Chris McGuinness-Terry on drums. These – FOUR young and passionate musicians shared their love for jazz when they debuted at the annual Hot August Jazz festival in North Hobart in 2019 and recently in a COVID based event in 2020 at the same festival. Guitarist Finn Bacon said it felt good to be a part of the event that creates a concentration of the niche genre. “We are very lucky to have played at Hot August Jazz events and other venues in Tasmania, because a lot of our mentors have been doing it for years,”Âť Mr Bacon said. “There’s a whole lot of different stuff to see, more modern, even some avant-garde stuff as well around and “You don’t really notice it [jazz] a lot throughout the rest of the year, because you really have to be in those niches.”Âť The young Conservatorium of Music student said he thinks the genre is still rife in a city that is home to many passionate musicians. “Me and my mates are always trying to keep it rolling because it’s such a great way of conversing with other people musically as well as socially,”Âť he said. “Musically it’s like a giant conversation between the players and all these lovely people feeding off each other in the moment. “Improvised music in the 21st century is a really important thing.”Âť We essentially like to just share our music. We LOVE an Audience!!!!! We do classic standards and originals and like performing at venues, music events, festivals, pubs/clubs/ weddings/ birthdays/ festivals/ corporate/ conference gigs etc.Added To List

You might then want the band to start after speeches, to kick off the dancing and less formal part of the evening. We provide our own PA system, which can be used for you to plug in an ipod of your own music between band sets, or we can provide break music on an ipod if you prefer. We can provide a cordless microphone for speeches. Once a booking is accepted and a deposit received, we are fully committed to the event. The Seratones
After listening to the likes of Jimmy Smith, Grant Green and the jazz greats of the 1960’s, the Seratones (Finn Seccombe, Randal Muir & Thomas Hann) figured it was time to put their own slant on the Hammond trio ensemble. Their music is a testament to the importance of the song with melody and rhythm at the centre of every decision. I heard the term ‘simplexity’ recently, referring to that phenomenon that occurs when music is distilled to its incorruptible essence. The Seratones strip out all but that which is necessary to make a tune groove. If you’re planning to come along to a show, expect an authentic jazz and blues experience with keyboard wizardry from Randal, smooth vocals from Finn and swinging backbeats from the talented Thomas Hann. – Get up close to those Leslie speakers and let the shimmering waves of sound flow right through your veins.Added To List
