    Red Hot Cols
The Red Hot Cols were formed in October, 1998, to provide character based theme entertainment at a corporate Christmas party for the Novotel, Launceston in Tasmania. Since then they have performed at many corporate events Australia-wide. Specialising in stand-up comedy, musical satire and comic character themes “the Cols” feature the combined talents of Colin Dean and Andrew Colrain. Colin Dean has been performing in musical theatre for over twenty years and as a professional singer for over thirty. Whether as part of a guitar duo, Old Time Music Hall Troupe, leading man in a Broadway style musical or just singing with a pub band, Colin’s variety of experience is vast. Musical impersonations are his specialty and while he is still performing, Tom Jones and Elvis will never die. Andrew Colrain also holds many years of theatrical experiences on his side with university revues, touring revues, musical theatre and extensive work in television advertising and voice-over work. Andrew has also worked as a professional singer for over 15 years and is a regular guest artist in cabaret at Hobart’s Wrest Point. His singing strength completes the Red Hot Cols harmony that is the basis of their unique comedic style. The Red Hot Cols are very versatile and can therefore be relied upon to make you laugh in any way possible. They are expert at writing satirical songs and gags based around the theme of your event, and enjoy working closely with their clients to create comedic material and themes. This gives you a unique experience in which you have input, and makes the gig more enjoyable for them. If you don’t want to create something new, The Red Hot Cols have a stable of existing characters such as The Gangsters, Brutus and Caesar, The Air Hosties From Hell, Basil Fawlty and Manuel, Pirates, Admirable Admirals, Conniving Convicts, Secret Agents (Our names are Bond) and a lovable pair of cockney lads. (A right old knees up!) The Red Hot Cols perform at any venue around Australia. The Red Hot Cols…….We take your funny business seriously !

    Rob ‘The Hat’ Harwood
Rob ‘The Hat’ Harwood arrived in Hobart at the end of 1986. After playing guitar with Dutch Tilders in Melbourne he played with National Collection for a few months before being offered a slot with The Fabulous Bluecats. Rob then ‘Found’ Kate Meehan and began playing with her, eventually starting the Kate Meehan Blues Band. Throughout the 1990s played in various acts, trios and duos as well as bands, mainly around Hobart but also around Tasmania. Graduating from Utas in 2003, Rob ‘The Hat’ Harwood soon went to South Korea to teach and played in restaurants until 2010 when he accepted a position at King Faisal university in al Hofuf, Saudi Arabia. After a couple of years in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, Rob went to central Asia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, for eight years. Still teaching, mainly creative writing, economics, and history. While continuing to play occasional concerts. Rob ‘The Hat’ Harwood returned to Tasmania in 2023 to retire, but playing music, improvising, creating, still excites him. He has recently been playing in local venues to audiences who appreciate both covers and his original tunes. That’s a short version of a long story, one that still revolves around Rob’s first love, the guitar. NOTE: Rob’s is an Instrumental act only, no vocals, solo, ambience/mood music (low volume usually, unless asked to power up)

Roving Puppets – Tip Duck & Heap
Terrapin explores beyond the borders of contemporary puppetry and makes lives better through art and culture. Both the Roving Puppets, Tip Duck and Heap, are a hit with audiences of all ages as an incidental activation of a large outdoor space, a greeter in foyers or a roving puppet. Tip Duck: This is Jeremy’s big moment. He finally has an idea that will make him rich. I.B.I.S (International Bin Integration Services) will train birds commonly known as Tip Ducks to keep our world clean and tidy. Enter Ibsen, the world’s first rubbish-collecting Ibis. But on launch day everything goes wrong, with hilarious (and messy) consequences. Tip Duck is perfect for large scale festivals, markets and other outdoor events, seen by over 57,000 people in 2021. It is a flexible roving performance beloved by audiences of all ages. Performance – Up to 3 x 20 minute roving performances over a 3-hour period. HEAP: Taking Compost to Great Heights. Heap is a large scale roving puppet, suitable for conferences, festivals, markets, community events and corporate activations. We all know compost heaps have a life of their own, but not like this one! Inspired by Tasmanians’ love of gardening, Terrapin takes the inner life of compost to great heights – literally – with Heap, a new roving performance featuring an ambitious amateur horticulturalist and a giant, unwieldy compost creature. Designed by master puppet maker Bryony Anderson in collaboration with Moonah Primary School and constructed entirely out of salvaged materials, Heap will engage green (and black) thumbs of all ages. Performance – Up to 3 x 20 minute roving performances over a 3-hour period. Hit the “Download Song List” button for Key Information
